The Institute of Brilliant Failures

Of all the things that a failure can be, brilliance is barely a common attribute given. Consider the “brilliant failures” oxymoron: it raises a brow, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, not only are Brilliant Failures something real, they too are taken quite seriously in the Dialogues Incubator. We have even dedicated an institute in their name. Read moreRead more

Iceland’s Crowdsourced Constitution: A lesson in Co-creation

Following the massive financial collapse of 2008, Iceland has bounced back into the headlines with a world first: crowdsourcing their new constitution across social media channels. The corporate equation is changing

Sometimes you just stop doing what you are doing and start thinking about it: does this make sense? Why am I doing this? Is it helping me or someone else to become better or happier? This mental exercise can be extremely fruitful, as it can uncover outdated assumptions or simply incorrect information, cause-consequence associations among others. Read moreRead more

All about Scrum – Jeff Sutherland in the Dialogues House

Scrum is so interesting to Dialogues because it forms a means to solve the biggest dilemma in large organizations today: how to get continuous innovation with disciplined execution. It was only a matter of time before we invited the inventor of Scrum, Dr. Jeff Sutherland, in the Dialogues House in order to tap into his knowledge and expertise on this remarkable tool. Tuesday June 7th was quite a hectic day for the crew of Dialogues Incubator, Dialogues House and Dialogues Technology. Our featured guest took center stage in an engaging event about Scrum and radical management that attracted more than 400 participants. Read moreRead more

The Challenge of the Initiator

The Challenge of the Initiator

Modern post-industrial society, and especially our businesses can be quite a shrewd lot. They aren’t usually kind to the ones who don’t fit in; they call names, they harass. Part of the indoctrination that leads to pyramidic conformity comes from this very social pressure. Dilbert is a daily reminder of how hard organizations work towards maintaining the status quo.
